Within the framework of the V International Theatre Festival "Theatrical Art of the Happy Epoch," which opened in Ashgabat, the troupe of the State Republican Puppet Theatre of the city of Dushanbe (Tajikistan) was the first to present its creativity.
The Tajik artists performed on the stage of the Turkmen State Puppet Theatre with the performance "Nowruz in the Land of Ajam." Let us recall that the land of Ajam is the historical name of the territory inhabited by Eastern peoples, and Nowruz is spring, when the soul sings. The production of the Tajik participants of the festival tells about what happens when these two concepts come together.
The action unfolds at a noisy and colorful Eastern bazaar. Here one can buy and sell anything, meet old friends, and make new acquaintances. And also – see real miracles: stilt-walking musicians who tower above everyone, cockfights and even a dancing baby camel. The audience was able to enjoy the dances and songs of the Tajik people, as well as learn how the traditional Nowruz dishes are prepared – Tajik pilaf and sumalak. The generosity of the holiday was also evidenced by the sweets with which the artists treated the public.
The host of this folk festivity was the charming artist with 40 years of experience, H.Salimov, who served as a link between the stage and the audience. To the sounds of the ancient but still relevant tambourine, Iskander Bukhariev danced fervently. One of the most active participants in the festive action was the director Yulia Moskalevich.
– Our company was fortunate to open the V International Theatre Festival "Theatrical Art of the Happy Epoch," says the artistic director of the State Republican Puppet Theatre of Dushanbe, Iskander Bukhariev. – I would like to note that we are taking part in theatre forums in the Turkmen capital for the second time. And we are very glad that Turkmen puppet artists recently performed the play "The Tale of Times" at the VIII International Theatre Festival in Tajikistan. A theatre festival is a holiday not only for those who have chosen the profession of an artist, but also for the numerous lovers of theatrical art who fill the auditoriums to capacity.
And as if to confirm these words, a group of students from Ashgabat Music School No. 4 vied with each other to share their emotions about the merry performance they had just seen. What impressed them most was the very cute baby camel, as well as many other bright moments, the listing of which seemed would never end.
