Major International Cooperation Agreements Signed on the First Day of TIF 2026

The first day of the TIF 2026 Investment Forum in Ashgabat concluded with the signing of a number of cooperation agreements covering transport, shipbuilding, railways, chemicals, oil and gas, water management and communications.

The first day of the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2026), being held in the capital city of Ashgabat, concluded with the signing of several important documents establishing new areas of international cooperation. The negotiations and presentations held during the forum resulted in specific contracts, memoranda and commercial agreements.

The signed documents covered key sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy, including transport, shipbuilding, railways, the chemical industry, oil and gas, water management and communications. This demonstrates the advancement of new projects aimed at expanding technological and industrial cooperation with foreign companies.

One of the key documents in the transport and shipbuilding sector was a 10-year strategic cooperation agreement for 2026–2036 between the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard, the Dutch company Damen Technical Cooperation B.V., and Liamol Trading GmbH.

Within the framework of this cooperation, the parties plan to develop shipbuilding and ship repair, introduce modern maritime technologies, and adapt production to local conditions in Turkmenistan.

A memorandum of understanding on the implementation of future infrastructure projects was also signed between the Ministry of Railways of Turkmenistan and one of China’s major construction companies, CSCEC International Construction Company Ltd.

Several important agreements were also reached in the chemical industry. The State Concern “Türkmenhimiýa” signed a memorandum with China’s Tianjin Bohua Engineering Co., Ltd. on the development of chemical production. In addition, a commercial contract was signed between the concern and the Turkmen Enjam economic entity.

In the oil and gas sector, the State Concern “Türkmennebit” signed a contract with Germany’s Hybrid Innovation GmbH.

In the water management sector, the State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan signed a memorandum of understanding with Damen Workboats B.V. and Liamol Trading GmbH aimed at modernizing the country’s water management system.

In the communications sector, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation was concluded between the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan and the Korean company OnU H&C.

The documents signed on the first day of TIF 2026 provide not only for investment cooperation across various sectors, but also for the introduction of new technologies, the exchange of professional expertise, and the development of production capacities adapted to local conditions.

Thus, the negotiations held on the first day of the forum were reinforced by concrete contracts and cooperation documents. TIF 2026 continues its work as an international platform for discussing new projects aimed at developing Turkmenistan’s economic and technological relations with foreign partners.
