Six countries set priorities for regional cooperation at Avaza meeting

The eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on October 8, 2026, in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. Azerbaijan officially participated in the meeting for the first time, bringing the regional cooperation format to six participating countries. The main topics included expanding regional economic cooperation, developing transport and logistics corridors, and strengthening cooperation in energy, industry, technology and environmental protection. The heads of state highlighted the importance of improving transport connectivity along the East-West and North-South routes, as well as expanding the potential of corridors linking Central Asia with the South Caucasus and Europe via the Caspian Sea.
