More ‘WOR$T’ Is on the Way: Slayyyter’s ‘WOR$T MAN IN AMERICA’ Album Is Coming
Billboard ·
The nine-track project arrives less than a year after her breakout third album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA .
Slayyyter ‘s WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA has a brother — and he’s coming to streaming this December.
The pop provocateur announced Monday (Oct. 5) that WOR$T MAN IN AMERICA , a nine-track “brother” album to her third studio album, will arrive Dec. 4 via RECORDS/Columbia Records.
The new project serves as a counterpart to WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA , revisiting the sounds, themes and ideas of its predecessor from an inverse perspective. Two songs from the forthcoming set have already been released: “Brand New Chanel$” — which gave Slayyyter her first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 — and “Crank 2.” Both offer a fresh take on the WOR$T GIRL tracks “Beat Up Chanel$” and “Crank,” respectively.
Slayyyter began teasing WOR$T MAN IN AMERICA during the launch of her WOR$T GIRL IN THE WORLD Tour in July. At the tour’s opening night in Missouri, she debuted “Brand New Chanel$,” along with “Nekromantik!” and “I Think He’s Got a Girl,” all of which are on the track list of the new album. “Brand New Chanel$” arrived officially later that month, while “crank 2” followed in September.
The announcement comes as Slayyyter closes out an insanely successful year. Just Sunday night, the pop star closed out the North American leg of her tour at the Brooklyn Paramount in New York, performing tracks from her first No. 1 on Billboard ‘s Top Dance Albums chart, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA . She also performed some unreleased tracks from the upcoming brother album, including “Nekromantik!,” “I Think He’s Got a Girl” and “Hymn.”
And the pop star has been collecting some major co-signs along the way. In September, Lady Gaga used Slayyyter’s “I’M ACTUALLY KINDA FAMOUS” in a TikTok, prompting Slayyyter to respond to the superstar’s shout-out with an enthusiastic “I LOVE GAGA” on her Instagram Story.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone , Slayyyter explained why she wanted to keep exploring the world of WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA instead of moving on from it. “I want to live here for a little longer, so I’m kind of making an inverse album, if you will,” she told the publication. “I just want the core of everything to feel like me, because it finally feels that.”
