From January to September 2026, oil from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan accounted for 18% of the total volume of crude oil transported through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) export oil pipeline. During the reporting period, a combined 3.4 million tonnes of oil from the two countries was transported through the pipeline.
Over the nine-month period, the BTC pipeline carried a total of 18.86 million tonnes of oil. Of this amount, 15.46 million tonnes, or 82%, consisted of oil produced in Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijan’s APA news agency, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee, the BTC pipeline accounted for 76.6% of the total volume of oil transported through Azerbaijan’s trunk oil pipelines during the reporting period.
The Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan oil pipeline plays an important role in exporting oil produced in the Caspian region to international markets. Crude oil supplied by Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan supplements Azerbaijan’s oil supplies and reinforces the importance of transit transport routes in bringing Caspian oil to global markets.
