The fifth annual BreachLock Penetration Testing Intelligence Report analyzes 531,770 security findings from 4,970 penetration tests across more than 60 industries, revealing the vulnerabilities, attack paths, and emerging threats shaping cybersecurity in 2026.
Highlights:
Hardcoded credentials in iOS applications accounted for 97 percent of all Critical mobile findings.
Insecure Design and business logic flaws (OWASP A04) rose from 8 percent to 16 percent of findings YoY.
100 percent of AI applications tested contained OWASP LLM Top 10 vulnerabilities.
“AI is a weapon and an opportunity here, and our own numbers show the risk side moving fastest,” says Seemant Sehgal, founder and CEO at BreachLock. “AI penetration testing debuted as a formal category this year and already registered a 12.7 percent Critical and High rate, higher than cloud or anything else we test. The sample is early. However, the direction is not something we expect to reverse.”
