A meeting was held at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs between Atajan Movlamov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, and Hasan Ali Zaigam, Director General of the Department for Central Asian Countries and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). The talks focused on implementing agreements reached between the two countries and turning joint projects into tangible economic and infrastructure outcomes.
During the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic mission briefed the Pakistani side on the outcomes of the international forums held in early October in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. It was noted that the initiatives put forward by Ashgabat are aimed at expanding multilateral cooperation, strengthening transport and energy connectivity, and ensuring sustainable development in the region.
The Pakistani diplomat highly praised Turkmenistan’s active role in organizing important platforms for international dialogue. He emphasized that such forums are significant for deepening mutual understanding between Central and South Asian countries.
The sides exchanged views on priority areas of bilateral cooperation. They also agreed on a schedule for future contacts, including continued meetings at expert and senior levels, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of strategically important joint projects.
The meeting represents an important step towards developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan in the economic, transport, and energy sectors, as well as ensuring practical outcomes from agreements reached previously.
