Turkmenistan continues to modernize the material and technical infrastructure of its power industry. Particular attention is being paid to upgrading the electricity networks in the Balkan region and improving the reliability of power supplies to residents, industrial enterprises and strategically important oil fields.
The project предусматривает expanding electricity generation and distribution capacities, modernizing infrastructure and strengthening the stability of the power supply system. Leading foreign technology partners are also expected to contribute to the work.
On October 31, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved proposals for the development of the power industry during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting. He also instructed the heads of the construction and industrial sectors to carry out the relevant work.
The modernization of the Balkan region's electricity infrastructure is expected to improve the reliability of power supplies to residents, support the efficient operation of oil and gas production facilities and promote the development of the region's industrial infrastructure.
