John Mayer to Headline 6 Nights at the Las Vegas Sphere: ‘Meet Me Where the Light Is’

John Mayer is headed to the Sphere. As announced Monday (Sept. 28), the singer-songwriter will play a series of six shows at the Las Vegas venue next spring, featuring solo, full-band and trio sets.
“Meet me where the light is…,” Mayer wrote on Instagram, announcing the news with a video of the venue’s exterior displaying images of him in Sin City. “I can’t wait to show you what I’m putting together. See you at Sphere.”
The Dead & Co. musician’s Sphere stint will kick off April 8, followed by shows on April 10, 11, 15, 17 and 18. Travel and VIP packages will be the first to become available for purchase, going on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday (Sept. 30). A week later, on Oct. 7, an artist presale — for which fans can now register on Mayer’s website — will go live at 10 a.m. PT.
The rocker’s mini-residency will make him the latest in an ever-expanding list of major musicians spending quality time at the Sphere since it opened in 2023. In a few days, Metallica will kick off its run of shows there on Thursday (Oct. 1), and the Eagles will return later this fall after playing a pair of Sphere concerts earlier in September.
Mayer’s news comes shortly after he celebrated the 20-year anniversary of his third album, Continuum , which featured some of the biggest hits of his career, including “Waiting on the World to Change” and “Gravity.” In an Instagram post marking the occasion, the musician wrote that while he doesn’t “usually celebrate album anniversaries,” he felt compelled to honor Continuum because of the way it “changed my life.”
“I’d had success already, but everything clicked into place on this album,” he wrote on Sept. 12. “When I think back on what made the album so special, some thoughts come to mind, and they’re worth my remembering: Life came into the room … You have to become different versions of yourself to create a lasting body of work. Nobody cares how long it takes if the music is meaningful. If you want to make something truly special, you have to bring talented people in the room to contribute.”
