– Watch the Quantapocalypse Documentary
Quantapocalypse , a Cybercrime Magazine 10-minute documentary sponsored by Keyfactor , examines how organizations can prepare for the transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC). The video brings together perspectives from a Fortune 500 Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), cybersecurity leaders and cryptography experts.
Quantum computing will challenge the cryptography that protects enterprise data, systems and machine identities. Readiness must be driven by business risk, not just predictions about when Q-Day (aka Y2Q ) will arrive. Q-day is the point at which quantum computers can break widely used public-key cryptography. Organizations need clear ownership, an understanding of their exposure and a plan to coordinate change across the business.
Experts featured in the short film include (listed in order of appearance):
Ted Shorter , Chief Technology Officer, Keyfactor
Chris Hickman , Chief Security Officer, Keyfactor
Diane Janosek , PhD, Esq., Former NSA Training Director, National Cryptologic School
Dr. Georgianna (George) Shea , Author, Post-Quantum Leadership
Theresa Payton , Former White House Chief Information Officer
Adam Keown , CISO, Eastman
Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that Q-Day (aka Y2Q) will arrive on or around Jan. 1, 2031 . In pop culture, an apocalypse refers to a massive, catastrophic end-of-the-world disaster. But the original meaning and the one that the Quantapocalypse documentary subscribes to is a revelation of hidden knowledge.
