Representatives of 14 Malaysian oil and gas companies to visit Turkmenistan

The heads of 14 Malaysian companies specializing in services and equipment for the oil and gas sector plan to make a working visit to Turkmenistan in October. The visit aims to develop B2B cooperation between companies of the two countries, introduce modern technologies, and discuss investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
Malaysian Deputy Minister of Economy Akmal Nasrulla Mohd Nasir announced the planned working visit during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur. The business delegation's visit will be organized by the Malaysian state corporation Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC) under the IMAP program, which supports the country's expansion into international markets.
For Malaysian companies serving the oil and gas industry, Turkmenistan stands out as one of the key markets in Central Asia. The long-standing experience of "Petronas Carigali" operating in the country has helped establish a solid foundation for cooperation between the oil and gas sectors of the two nations.
It is noted that in the next stage, Malaysian companies specializing in oil and gas services, engineering, and high technologies are showing interest in cooperation opportunities in Turkmenistan. They can offer solutions for modernizing drilling operations, developing oil and gas infrastructure, enhancing the technical capabilities of production facilities, and introducing digital technologies into production processes.
Malaysia’s oil and gas services sector, known as OGSE, encompasses approximately 3,000 companies. The annual output of this sector is reported to approach 20 billion US dollars.
Ongoing efforts in Turkmenistan to diversify the oil and gas industry, implement new investment projects, and introduce environmentally cleaner technologies into production create new cooperation opportunities for foreign companies.
The visit of the business delegation from Malaysia in October will provide an opportunity to develop direct business ties in the oil and gas sectors of the two countries, exchange technological expertise, and discuss new joint projects.
