When Coven Academy conjures up its series debut Thursday (Oct. 1), it’s bringing dozens of music A-listers along for the broom ride.
Billboard can exclusively reveal the full track list across the 10 episodes of season 1 — premiering Thursday on Freeform and next day on Disney+ and Hulu — including Olivia Rodrigo’s “Brutal,” Chappell Roan’s “After Midnight,” KATSEYE’s “Debut,” Tate McRae’s “Greenlight,” Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” Gracie Abrams’ “Us.” featuring Taylor Swift, and even Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” There are 44 songs in total — a mixture of tracks you know and love, deep cuts from your favorites, and brand-new discoveries from up-and-coming artists. Coven Academy follows three teenage witches — Briar (Malina Weissman), Sasha (Jordan Leftwich) and Tegan (Ora Duplass) — through their elite magic boarding school as they navigate their burgeoning supernatural powers and forbidden crushes. And speaking of supernatural… Billboard is premiering an exclusive new clip ahead of the premiere, starring Malachi Barton ( Camp Rock 3 and ZOMBIES 4 ) as Jake, who unleashes his powers of levitation soundtracked by Barns Courtney’s otherworldly rocker “Supernatural.” Watch below:
Beyond the paranormal teens at the center of the series, there are also some treats for the Gen X and millennial audience tuning in: Tiffani Thiessen (aka Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell and Valerie Malone in Beverly Hills 90210 ) stars as Crescent Veil headmistress Miss Graves, while Devon Sawa ( Now and Then bully-turned-crush Scott Wormer and the title role of Casper as the ghost’s human form) guest-stars as teacher Mr. Cole.
