50 Cent Says Eminem Has a New Album on the Way: ‘He’s Preparing His Presentation’

50 explained that Slim Shady's upcoming LP caused him to take a step back from the Street Fighter soundtrack.

50 Cent is never one to mince words, and he may have spilled the beans surrounding Eminem’s next album. While doing an interview at the Los Angeles premiere of Street Fighter on Monday (Oct. 12), 50 revealed that Em pulled out of working on the movie’s soundtrack to focus on his album.

“Em, he put a couple pieces together for it and decided because he got closer to his album, he kinda fell back on that because he’s preparing his presentation for the next album,” 50 told The Associated Press of his close friend with a sly smile.

Billboard has reached out to Eminem’s reps for comment.

Back in December, 50 promised to recruit Eminem for the Street Fighter soundtrack, and then the G-Unit mogul sent the hip-hop community into a frenzy when he teased a posthumous collab with 2Pac alongside Slim and himself in July.

“I got some music that I’m working on. I did something currently me, Eminem and 2Pac,” he told Today With Jenna & Sheinelle at the time. “They delivered it. It’s for the theme of  Street Fighter , the movie. We worked on it and got it right.”

However, the dreamy collaboration could be shelved or possibly land on Eminem’s new album. Details about the project remain scarce.

The Detroit legend’s last album came out in July 2024 with The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) , which topped the Billboard 200, earning 281,000 total album-equivalent units, according to Luminate. Eminem is still sharpening his lyrical sword, as he clashed with Shady Records signee Ez Mil on “Madara” earlier in October.

As for 50 Cent, the “In Da Club” rapper is set to play Balrog in the Street Fighter reboot, which stars Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, Eric André and comedian Andrew Schulz. The live-action film arrives in theaters on Friday (Oct. 16).
