The international forum Kazan Digital Week – 2026 is taking place in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation, from 29 to 31 October 2026. A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Minister of Communications Berdymyrat Berdyev is also attending the event.
Held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre, the forum has brought together more than 20,000 participants from 76 countries. Attendees include government and public figures, business representatives, members of the scientific community and specialists developing digital technologies.
This year's main theme is the practical application of artificial intelligence technologies. Participants are discussing the development of the digital industry, cybersecurity, and the introduction of artificial intelligence and other digital solutions in industry, public administration, healthcare, education, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony, Berdymyrat Berdyev highlighted the implementation of a large-scale State Programme for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan. He noted that the country is shaping its own digital development strategy and seeks to become a reliable digital bridge at the intersection of key transit routes connecting East and West, and North and South.
His speech also outlined ongoing efforts to apply artificial intelligence solutions in public administration and social sectors. In particular, personalised learning systems and algorithms designed for the early detection of diseases are being introduced in education and healthcare. In the economy, work is underway to launch crop-yield forecasting systems and intelligent transport-flow management solutions.
The head of the Turkmen delegation emphasised that the city of Arkadag serves as a model of a “smart” and environmentally sustainable city. Its infrastructure is based on advanced information and communication technologies and green solutions. Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence technologies have been integrated into a unified platform for city management and security.
One of the main venues of Kazan Digital Week – 2026 is an exhibition of technological developments, showcasing digital solutions from government institutions, major companies and technology startups.
