The grand opening of the modern Ahal-teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan took place in Turkmenistan. The ceremony was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In his speech, Hero-Arkadag noted that the new complex has created all the necessary conditions for the year-round maintenance and breeding of «paradisial» horses. The architectural ensemble of the building is designed in harmony with the local natural landscape and includes design elements depicting the famous Ahal-teke horses.
Particular attention is paid to a scientifically based approach to the maintenance of racehorses and breeding activities.
The complex houses cutting-edge laboratories and specialised departments equipped with modern veterinary equipment. They are designed for the systematic study of the physiological characteristics of horses and monitoring their health.
To ensure a balanced diet, alfalfa, as well as unique varieties of carrots and the traditional «Babarap apple tree», are grown in a special area of the complex. Combined with barley and quality hay, these crops form the basis of a diet rich in vital nutrients. The complex includes spacious feed storage facilities, guaranteeing an uninterrupted supply throughout the year.
The commissioning of the new facility is intended to take the work of preserving the purebred and increasing the worldwide fame of the Ahal-teke breed to a qualitatively new scientific and practical level.
