An international exhibition and scientific conference, «Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state», was held in Ashgabat. This annual event has long established itself as a prestigious forum aimed at introducing the latest advances in medical science and developing ties with international partners.

Deputy minister of health of the Russian Federation Evgeniya Kotova, who arrived in Ashgabat as part of a large Russian delegation, shared her impressions of participating in the forum. It included leading experts in the fields of oncology, pediatrics, public administration and healthcare organisation.

As part of the festive events marking the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers of the country, three major medical institutions were opened with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan: the International scientific and clinical oncology centre, the Dental centre, and the International pediatrics centre.

A delegation from the Russian Ministry of Health visited the new facilities and praised their standard.

«These are unique, very modern institutions, equipped with cutting-edge equipment. In addition to medical technology, special attention is paid to logistics and comfort for both patients and medical staff», – noted Y. Kotova.

According to the deputy minister, the launch of these centers will improve the accessibility and quality of high-tech care, enabling the effective diagnosis and treatment of even the most complex diseases.

The Russian side expressed its willingness to share its own developments with its Turkmen colleagues. In particular, at the opening of the International scientific and clinical oncology centre, Russian specialists presented the results of the national project to combat cancer. As noted, thanks to systematic work over the past 10 years, early-stage cancer detection in Russia has exceeded 60%, and diagnostic rates have more than doubled.

During the meetings in Ashgabat, the parties discussed key areas of mutually beneficial partnership. Y. Kotova expressed confidence that the recent visit will give a powerful impetus to bilateral cooperation for the benefit of citizens of both countries.
