Astana to host C5+1 Artificial Intelligence meeting between Central Asian countries and the US

Taking place on September 29–30 as part of AI MONTH 2026, the meeting will focus on safe AI adoption, regulation, talent development and digital infrastructure.
A C5+1 meeting dedicated to cooperation between Central Asian countries and the United States in the field of artificial intelligence will be held in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana. Aimed at expanding technological cooperation in the region, the event will take place on September 29–30 as part of the "AI MONTH 2026" technology month.
The meeting will review future directions of cooperation between Central Asian states and the US in developing and safely deploying artificial intelligence technologies. Representatives from government agencies, relevant specialized organizations, international structures, and the IT community are expected to attend.
Key areas of discussion will include the legal regulation of artificial intelligence, training highly qualified personnel for this field, developing joint computing infrastructure, and strengthening technological independence.
As part of the event, the international cybersecurity conference KazHackStan is also planned to be held. There, more than 100 specialists from around the world will discuss information protection, malware analysis, and new cyber threats arising from the rapid development of artificial intelligence.
One of the main events of "AI MONTH 2026" will be the "AI & Digital Bridge 2026" international forum, scheduled for October 1–3. The forum’s program includes a number of international events related to artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
Among them are the "HackAlem AI" international hackathon held in partnership with OpenAI and NVIDIA, the "LP Summit" investment summit bringing together representatives of Eurasian venture funds, and the "Astana AI Film Festival" international film festival. It is noted that the prize fund of the "HackAlem AI" hackathon reaches 1.5 million US dollars.
Events within the framework of "AI MONTH 2026" demonstrate the growing interregional cooperation in Central Asia regarding artificial intelligence, the digital economy, cybersecurity, and technological entrepreneurship. Such international platforms create opportunities to discuss new digital solutions, exchange experiences, and develop cooperation on integrating artificial intelligence technologies into various sectors of the economy.
