On October 21, 2026, President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country’s Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, attended the inauguration ceremony of a new complex of buildings and facilities at a military unit. Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defence Begench Gundogdyev reported to the head of state that the new complex was ready for operation.

The modern military settlement includes an administrative building, barracks for service members, a medical unit equipped with medical equipment meeting international standards, a dining hall, a training obstacle course, and sports grounds.

During his visit to the military unit, the head of state viewed modern examples of the national army’s weaponry and unmanned aerial vehicles used in military service in the administrative building. He also paid attention to service members’ working and recreational conditions and to the proper organisation of their daily lives.

Improving the living conditions of military personnel and their family members was another key focus of the new complex. Two two-storey residential buildings, designed to accommodate a total of 96 families, were commissioned within the military settlement. In addition, children’s playgrounds, a shop offering a wide range of domestically produced goods, and a dedicated building for holding national ceremonies and celebrations were constructed.

As part of the opening ceremony, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the home of one of the families that had moved into the new residential buildings and congratulated the new homeowners. He also presented the military unit with motor vehicles.

The commissioning of the new military facilities marks another stage in ongoing efforts to improve service conditions for military personnel, raise their standard of living, and modernise the material and technical infrastructure of the national army.
