Turkmen Scientist Becomes a Full Member of an International Scientific Council

Mukam Ekäýew, a researcher at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, has become a full member of the International Association of Academies of Sciences’ Scientific Council on New Materials following scientific events in Minsk, Belarus.

Mukam Ekäýew, Head of the Department of Nanotechnology and Materials Science at Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, took part in scientific events held as part of an industrial and innovation forum in Minsk, Belarus. During the visit, the Turkmen scientist was accepted as a full member of the Scientific Council on New Materials of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS).

The decision was made on October 16, 2026, following consideration of Mukam Ekäýew’s candidacy at a meeting of the scientific council held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. This achievement marked an important milestone in the Turkmen scientist’s career and represented a significant step towards expanding international scientific cooperation between Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

During his working visit, Mukam Ekäýew met with Pyotr Aleksandrovich Vityaz, Head of the Administration of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and one of the founders of the scientific school of powder metallurgy, as well as Sergei Mikhailovich Aldoshin, a prominent specialist in chemical physics and Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The meetings focused on prospects for cooperation in new materials, nanotechnology and materials science, as well as opportunities to strengthen ties between scientific institutions in Turkmenistan, Belarus and Russia. As a gesture of respect and friendship, the distinguished scientists were presented with books by Hero-Arkadag, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, President of Turkmenistan.

The international exhibition «TechInnoProm», held as part of Belarus’s industrial and innovation forum, showcased modern technologies, innovative developments and industrial equipment. During the exhibition, the Turkmen scientist learned about new technologies used to advance industrial development in various countries and discussed future areas of cooperation with colleagues from abroad.

Meetings with representatives of China’s scientific community and manufacturing companies from China and Belarus attracted particular interest. The discussions identified potential areas for implementing joint projects and advancing scientific and technical work.

Mukam Ekäýew also participated in the international symposium «Prospects for the Development of Additive Technologies in the Republic of Belarus». The symposium examined research findings on metal powders, polymers, composite materials, nanostructured systems and functional coatings. Particular attention was paid to the importance of these fields in improving the quality of manufacturing various components and industrial equipment.

The Turkmen scientist’s working visit to Minsk is significant for developing international scientific ties in new materials and nanotechnology, expanding cooperation in higher education, and strengthening Turkmenistan’s industrial and technological capabilities.
