The historical and cultural heritage of the Amul — Merw route, one of the important branches of the Great Silk Road connecting East and West, continues to be widely studied scientifically today.
A scientific work by young Turkmen researchers Atael, Arman, and Sevginur Astanov, dedicated to the historical monuments located along the Amul — Merw route, was awarded the "Outstanding Scientific Work" prize at the 8th International Scientific Conference on Protecting Cultural Heritage through Digitalization held in Beijing, China.
This success is characterized as an important contribution to studying Turkmenistan's ancient historical and cultural heritage using modern digital technologies and presenting it to the global scientific community.
The international conference held at Tsinghua University brought together scientists, young researchers, and specialists in various fields from over 20 countries and regions of the world. During the event, issues related to preserving cultural heritage through digital methods, studying historical values using artificial intelligence capabilities, and passing them on to future generations were discussed.
Atael Astanov, a graduate of specialized secondary school No. 9 in the city of Turkmenabat and the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, presented the results of research on digitally documenting historical monuments along the Amul — Merw route at the conference.
