Turkmen Athletes Win 590 Medals at International Competitions

In January–October 2026, Turkmenistan’s athletes won 179 gold, 188 silver and 223 bronze medals.
Turkmen athletes have won 590 medals at international competitions. This was stated in a report by Deputy Prime Minister B. Mammedov at today’s Cabinet of Ministers meeting held via digital link. The news was reported by the “Watan” program.
Work to develop physical culture and sport continued in January–October 2026. Athletes showed strong results at international competitions, winning a total of 179 gold, 188 silver and 223 bronze medals.
After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan drew attention to the importance of continually improving the country’s science and education, healthcare and sports sectors. He instructed officials to continue work on raising the qualifications of education workers and modernizing the healthcare system, and to carry out the development of sport to the required standard.
