Beeline Kazakhstan and Starlink have launched direct-to-cell satellite communications, allowing standard smartphones to connect without extra hardware.
As reported by spot.uz , Starlink Mobile satellite communication has officially started operating in Kazakhstan using Direct to Cell technology. The project was jointly implemented by Beeline Kazakhstan and Starlink with the support of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development. Industry insights indicate that this technology enables conventional smartphones to connect directly to satellites in remote areas without external antennas, providing messaging and basic internet. The service is currently offered free of charge during a promotional period for Beeline Android users, making Kazakhstan the first country in Central Asia to introduce this as a commercial user service.
