From October 17 to 21, 2026, private companies from Turkmenistan participated in the international food exhibition SIAL Paris 2026, held in the French capital, Paris. The visit was organized by the International Trade Centre under the “Turkmenistan: Trade Resilience and Integration” project, implemented with financial support from the European Union.
Turkmen companies Miwe and Asly Turkmen, along with the Erem, Miwada and GurFood brands, presented their products at the exhibition. Their stands featured dried and freeze-dried fruits, raisins, almonds and sweets made from dried fruits.
Participation in the international exhibition gave Turkmen producers an opportunity to introduce national products to foreign businesses, establish contacts with potential buyers and explore opportunities to expand their export markets.
For the Turkmen companies, taking part in such a large-scale international food exhibition was a first-time experience. Bringing together producers, importers, distributors and retail representatives from around the world, SIAL Paris also offered an opportunity to learn about new ways of promoting products in international markets. Participants exchanged experience on current packaging design trends, certification requirements and the specific challenges of entering foreign markets.
According to Yhlas Hudaynazarov, director of the Miwe Open Joint-Stock Company, the exhibition provided an effective platform for demonstrating the quality and distinctive features of Turkmen products to international buyers. The company showcased locally produced almonds and freeze-dried products marketed under the Erem brand. These products attracted interest from buyers representing different countries. Business meetings held during the exhibition also created opportunities to develop partnerships and enter new markets.
Participation in SIAL Paris 2026 formed part of the International Trade Centre’s efforts to support Turkmenistan’s agribusiness enterprises, enhance their competitiveness and strengthen their export potential.
The “Turkmenistan: Trade Resilience and Integration” project, funded by the European Union, aims to improve the business environment, increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, support economic growth and create decent employment opportunities. It also supports Turkmenistan’s active participation in regional and international trade relations, including cooperation with the European Union.
