Applications are now open for young people aged 16–25 living in Turkmenistan who wish to participate in the first phase of “EcoWaves”, a project focused on the responsible use of water resources. The announcement was made by the youth initiative TheWaterFloor.
As part of the first phase, three online seminars will be held from 9 to 16 November. Participants will learn about the fundamental principles of water resource management, ways to conserve water in everyday life, and the role young people can play in this field. The programme will also include practical sessions and collaborative activities with local water management specialists.
Applicants wishing to join the seminars must be between 16 and 25 years old, reside in Turkmenistan, have a high level of English proficiency, and have the technical means to participate in online sessions.
The next phase of the project is expected to include an in-person podcast featuring experts, as well as opportunities for participants to exchange experiences and connect with like-minded peers.
The “EcoWaves” project is being implemented as part of the Youth Climate Summer School with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It aims to strengthen young people’s understanding of water conservation and responsible water use, while encouraging their active involvement in these efforts.
