⚽ David Beckham could run for FIFA president. The co-owner of Inter Miami is reportedly ready to enter the race if he receives an official proposal and support from football associations. The FIFA presidential election is scheduled for March 2027.
Former England national team captain David Beckham could put forward his candidacy for the presidency of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). According to Sky Sports, the 51-year-old co-owner of Inter Miami is ready to enter the election race if he receives an official proposal and the backing of football associations.
According to reports, European football federations, including UEFA, are looking for an alternative candidate to replace current FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Infantino has led the organization since 2016 and plans to seek another term.
Beckham’s potential candidacy is attributed to his widespread recognition in the football world, his lack of links to corruption scandals, and the management experience he has gained in North America’s Major League Soccer (MLS).
Other individuals mentioned as potential candidates for the presidency include former Portugal international Luís Figo, former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, and Norwegian Football Federation head Lise Klaveness.
The FIFA presidential election is scheduled to take place in March 2027. The deadline for submitting candidacies is November 18, 2026. At present, Gianni Infantino is the only officially registered candidate for the position.
