“Amazing China: Xinjiang in the Beauty of Art” Exhibition Opens in Ashgabat

On October 29, the State Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat hosted the opening ceremony of an art and photography exhibition entitled “Amazing China: Xinjiang in the Beauty of Art”. The exhibition introduces visitors to the natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and contemporary life of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The paintings and photographs on display portray the region’s distinctive landscapes, traditions and everyday life. Through their creative works, artists and photographers highlight Xinjiang’s cultural diversity, natural features and unique character.
The opening ceremony was attended by Turkmenistan’s Minister of Culture, Gurbanmyrat Myradaliyev; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan, Xi Shumin; the director of the State Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan, Ismayil Orazov; and representatives of China’s art community. Among them were Kuai Zhenmin, vice-chairman of the China Artists Association, vice-chairman of the Federation of Literature and Art of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and chairman of the Xinjiang Artists Association.
Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the importance of developing cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and China, exchanging experience in the field of art, and strengthening mutual understanding between the two peoples.
Following the official opening, guests viewed the works on display. Kuai Zhenmin guided the tour, explaining the artistic features of the pieces and the cultural values they convey.
The “Amazing China: Xinjiang in the Beauty of Art” exhibition aims to draw international attention to the region’s art and cultural heritage. Before arriving in Turkmenistan, the exhibition was also presented in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The exhibition will remain open at the State Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan until November 11, giving residents and visitors to the capital an opportunity to discover Chinese art more closely.
