The 31st International Conference and Exhibition Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan (OGT 2026) concluded on 23 October in Ashgabat, reaffirming the importance of international cooperation, technological innovation and long-term investment in the development of Turkmenistan's energy sector.

Held under the motto “Energy. Partnership. Progress.”, the three-day forum brought together senior government representatives, executives of national and international energy companies, investors, financial institutions, technology providers and industry experts.

According to the organisers' registration figures, OGT 2026 attracted more than 1,700 registered delegates representing approximately 450 companies from 75 countries.

Organised by the State Concerns Türkmengaz and Türkmennebit and the State Corporation Türkmengeologiýa, in cooperation with Turkmen Energy Forum, the event combined high-level strategic discussions with an international exhibition, technical sessions and business networking opportunities.

The conference placed particular emphasis on the phased development of the Galkynysh gas field, the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline, regional energy connectivity, offshore exploration in the Caspian Sea and the development of gas processing and petrochemical industries.

International cooperation was reflected in the participation of major energy companies and government delegations, with discussions addressing the role of natural gas in energy security, industrial development and economic growth.

A significant outcome was the signing of five bilateral documents with international partners from China, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The agreements covered cooperation in the Caspian energy sector, oil and gas services and equipment, and the procurement of industrial products.

Technology and sustainability were equally prominent. Dedicated discussions examined artificial intelligence, digital transformation, workforce development, methane emissions reduction and energy efficiency.

The international exhibition provided a platform for companies to present technological solutions, industrial equipment and services, while the B2B and B2G networking programme supported direct engagement between project stakeholders and potential partners.

The forum concluded with an awards ceremony recognising contributions to the event and the adoption of an address by conference participants to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

OGT 2026 demonstrated the continuing importance of Ashgabat as a meeting point for international energy dialogue, connecting strategic priorities with practical opportunities for investment, technology cooperation and long-term partnerships.

The discussions and agreements reached during the forum provide a basis for continued engagement among Turkmenistan's national energy institutions and their international partners.
