About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.
The conference, held from October 19 to 30, brought together representatives of states, international organizations, the scientific community and environmental protection institutions to discuss issues of biodiversity conservation and strengthening ecological cooperation.
The main task of COP-17 is to assess collective progress in the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal global framework program, as well as discuss issues of ecosystem protection, restoration of degraded lands and development of environmental financing mechanisms.
For Turkmenistan, participation in the forum is an important step for the promotion of national initiatives. The country has unique ecosystems - from the Karakum desert and the mountain systems of Kopetdag and Koitendag to the shores of the Caspian Sea. State policy is consistently aimed at improving nature protection, development of specially protected natural territories, protection of rare species of flora and fauna, as well as combating desertification.
Participation in the forum contributes to the exchange of experience, the expansion of professional contacts and the strengthening of the practical contribution of Turkmenistan to the achievement of global goals of ecological sustainability for the sake of current and future generations.
