On 3–4 November 2026, a training seminar was held at the Turkmenbashi International Seaport with the participation of officers from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the customs authorities of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The main objective of the event was to exchange experience and strengthen cooperation between the customs services of the two countries.
During the seminar, Pakistani specialists were introduced to the capabilities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, one of the major logistics centres in the Caspian region. They also familiarised themselves with the modern facilities established for customs control of transit vehicles and goods.
As part of the meeting, Turkmen and Pakistani customs officers exchanged views on activities carried out under the World Customs Organization’s (WCO) programme for monitoring passenger and cargo transportation, as well as within the framework of the Interregional Network of Customs Services and Port Control Units (IREN). The participants shared their professional experience and discussed opportunities for further cooperation.
