Four lecturers from the Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan are participating in an international programme in Japan aimed at improving teaching methodologies for engineering subjects. The training, running from 11 October to 25 December 2026, was organised by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the University of Tsukuba. This was reported by the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The following lecturers from Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University are participating in the international programme:
The programme’s main objectives are to study modern teaching methods used at Japanese higher education institutions, improve the quality of engineering education, and promote research activities.
During the training, the Turkmen lecturers will learn about approaches to curriculum development, modern methods of assessing knowledge, and effective ways to organise practical training.
The programme also envisages research activities in areas such as artificial intelligence, materials science, nanobiosensors, food biotechnology, and the development of digital educational resources.
The experience and practical skills acquired in Japan are expected to be applied in the teaching process and laboratory practice at Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University. This will help enhance the lecturers’ professional qualifications, improve the content of educational programmes, and expand research opportunities.
Implemented through cooperation between JICA and the University of Tsukuba, the programme contributes to the development of scientific, educational, and technological cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan. It also highlights the importance of exchanging expertise in training highly qualified engineers who meet the needs of an innovation-driven economy.
