Turkmenistan and Pakistan have discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation in religious education, Quranic studies and religious affairs. During the talks, the sides considered opportunities to study Pakistan’s experience in religious education and explore its potential application in Turkmenistan. The information was reported by Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
These issues were discussed at a meeting in Islamabad between Yalkap Hojagulyyev, head of the religious organisation of the Arkadag Spiritual Mosque and its chief imam, and Abrar Ahmed Mirza, Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to study Pakistan’s experience in religious education, promote understanding of the fundamentals of Islam in Turkmenistan and strengthen mutual cooperation in this field.
Yalkap Hojagulyyev noted that the main purpose of his visit was to learn about the structure of Pakistan’s religious education system, its curricula and teaching methods.
He also expressed interest in studying Pakistan’s experience in teaching the fundamentals of Islamic faith, Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and Quranic interpretation (tafsir).
The meeting aims to expand the exchange of experience in religious education and further develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
