AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AINewsWire Editorial Coverage : Computing capacity is what the AI industry is sprinting to add. Just as fast, though, a different limit is taking shape: power supply. By 2030, the International Energy Agency  expects  global electricity demand from data centers to keep rising steeply. Goldman Sachs  estimates  the compound annual growth rate for U.S. data-center power demand at around 15% between 2023 and 2030, a pace that could leave data centers responsible for roughly 8% of all U.S. electricity consumption by the end of that period. As AI’s hunger for compute outpaces what the grid can supply, the gap between the two is changing both the location and the design of AI infrastructure projects. AZIO AI Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: AZIO) ( profile ) is chasing exactly that opening through its power-backed compute campuses, among them Atlas One, its project in south Texas. The company has now put that strategy into action, announcing its first hosting agreement at Atlas One with Power Champion Investment Limited. The deal starts at 10 megawatts of capacity and carries rights to expand up to 50 megawatts. With it, Atlas One lands its first contracted customer, and AZIO AI is working alongside major AI infrastructure developers and operators, including IREN Ltd.   (NASDAQ: IREN), Cipher Digital Inc.   (NASDAQ: CIFR), Applied Digital Corporation   (NASDAQ: APLD) and CoreWeave Inc.   (NASDAQ: CRWV).
